The Perfect Brew at Kairos Specialty Coffee

The thing about Malaysian weather is that on some days it can be sunshiny and bright, even to the point of being scorching, melting, sweat-trickling-down-your-back-cannot-live-without-the-AC hot at times. And on other days it'll literally give you cats and dogs. Today? It's cats and dogs. And I'm stuck at SS15 Courtyard. Not the best idea to hit the road in these conditions, so I figured I'd find a place to chill while I wait out the thunderstorm.

So here I am sitting at Kairos Specialty Coffee, a cosy little café situated in front of the building's Ground Floor entrance, which lets me keep tabs on the rain outside. Apart from the sound of the heavy downpour, it's quiet in here. Sure, there's the buzz of people coming and going, but sitting here all by myself with just my thoughts and my blog actually feels... well... serene.

I don't really run on caffeine, but it is a cold afternoon, so I ordered a latte (RM11.00). And I have to say, I'm enjoying it. It's a nice latte. No, you know what, scratch that. It's more than nice. It's aromatic, smooth and creamy, and I might even go so far as to say it's exceptional. No, really. Every sip tastes like silk. Not that I know what silk tastes like, but you get the gist. And if I hadn't already had lunch, I'd be ordering pastry to go with the coffee (yes, they serve light bites, too). Next time.

So anyway, since I have some time to kill, I thought I'd do some digging. According to their website and social media page, Kairos Specialty Coffee has its origins in Australia with Bear Bones Specialty Coffee in Brisbane being their HQ and head roastery. That's where all their coffees - specialty blends and single origins - are crafted, and then supplied to retailers across Australia, New Zealand and Malaysia. And besides being a cool place to chill and watch the world go by, Kairos is all about inspiring positive coffee culture in the community. Nice. 🙂☕

Well, the weather seems to be clearing up now, so that's my cue, but this has been a really good pit stop. Unexpected but really good, and I'm sure I'll be back.

See you soon, Kairos!
