Musings About a Sandy Beach and Avengers: Endgame
It's late right now. Really late. Or early, depending on how you look at it. The TV is off and everyone's asleep. Aside from the ticking of the clock, the only other sound I can hear is that of random passing vehicles in the audible distance. If you've been following my blog, you'd know that I'm in night owl mode right now.
I just returned from an out-of-town work trip about a couple of hours ago. My workmate and I took the last flight out of Dungun, Terengganu at 9.05 pm and I made it home at around 10.30 pm. I've showered, had a small bite to eat, and since it's been nearly three weeks since I last blogged, I thought I'd write a quick post before I hit the sack.
So anyway... Dungun. Nice place. It's on the east coast of Peninsula Malaysia and has a laid-back "kampung" vibe. This was my first time visiting the east coast. Heard a lot about it before, so it was nice to finally get to go, even if it was for work. The beach was just across the street from our seminar venue, a lovely property called Ulek Beach Resort. We worked long hours there but my workmate and I did manage to sneak a quick walk over to the beach, which was awesome, and she took this picture of me.
Anyway, I'd like to talk about Avengers: Endgame for a minute. It premiered in Malaysia a couple of days ago and, as expected, the madness has been at fever pitch. I had initially thought about going to see it this weekend, but work has been so hectic this week that I've hardly had the chance to book tickets or make plans to go with my friend. So it'll have to wait until maybe next weekend. I know, I know... it's the movie event of the decade and all, so how could I not be rushing to go see it, right? Am I not worried about spoilers? It's OK. I can hold off for a few more days, spoilers and all. Anyway, as far as spoilers go, I think it's fairly obvious to everyone that with what we know about Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr's contracts, this could be the end of the road for Captain America and Iron Man, so what's to spoil? It's kind of my theory that they'll both make the ultimate sacrifice. Maybe. I think. I guess I'll find out soon enough. Of course it'll be sad if it comes to that, but you know what? What an amazing 11-year ride it's been with these guys and I don't think any MCU fan could complain. Frankly speaking, all I want out of Endgame really is for Loki to be alive. Just give me that and I'll be happy. I felt he got a raw deal in Infinity War, so hopefully Endgame does him justice.
Anyway, I would love to write more but I'm starting to doze off and I do have to work in the morning, so I'd better hit the sack. Until my next post, it's cheers for now. 🙂
